Step 1
Accept Yourself Now
Accepting yourself lets you start fresh. It's like telling
yourself: "What I have now is good. I'm going to make it
better". Compare that to "I don't deserve better". Who
stands a better chance at reaching and achieving a better
weight? The answer is clear.
Accept yourself and you'll love yourself every step of the
way to achieving your health goals.
Step 2
Envision yourself as a better you
You might get to your ideal weight one way or another. Maybe you tried diets and became a human
"yo-yo", bouncing back to your old weight, or worse.
You may lose one hundred pounds and be at the best weight of your life. But when you look inside,
you'll see the old you again, and gravitate back to that old weight.
That thinner person has to be inside you before you get thin on the outside. Once you've achieved your
weight, it still won't be easy. Temptations to stop exercising and overeating will still be there. But the
person you accepted months and years before you got to that weight will fight harder and have a much
easier psychological preparation and defense for it too. For example, exercise, a real chore for some,
may become an engrained habit in that new person, something you can't bear to live without every day.
That takes a lot of mental discipline that doesn't come over night. You have to develop that image and
keep it building as you continue your diet.
Envision yourself every morning reaching and maintaing your goal. Envision yourself being happier,
stronger at fighting temptations while maintaining good eating and exercise habits. Become excited
every day as you get closer to becoming that person.
